Flower Trail
Pro Pilatus, the association that safeguards the Pilatus and its environs, celebrated its 60th anniversary in 2009. To mark the occasion, the association gifted a path to all walkers: the Flower Trail received funding from PILATUS-BAHNEN AG.
The path is dotted with signage in German, English and Latin giving details of the local flora, its colour and blossom time. The drawings featured on the signs are taken from Flora der Schweiz (Hess, Landolt, Hirzel, published by Birkhäuser Verlag).
Note: the Alpine flora is protected on and around the Pilatus, from Lake Alpnach, over Pilatus Kulm and Mittaggüpfi to and including the Risetenstock in the Biosphere Entlebuch.
