Dragon path – Hans Erni
Hans Erni – one of the most popular and well-known Swiss artists of our time - has taken a selection of the mysterious myths and legends surrounding Mount Pilatus and immortalized them with his illustrations in the rock gallery on Pilatus Kulm.
Born in Lucerne in 1909, the well-known artist grew up in the city and has been fascinated by the dragon legends since his youth. He has interpreted the legends, which hover somewhere between fact and fiction, in impressive style. When the Dragon Path was inaugurated on Pilatus Kulm, in the year in which Hans Erni celebrated his 90th birthday, the artist was awarded a place of honour on his "own" mountain.
