The prevailing logistical and meteorological conditions make construction on a mountain extremely challenging and place the highest demands on construction management and building contractor. The transport of renovation and building material to and from the site will be carried out by rail, aerial cableway or helicopter.
In spring, summer and autumn, as much material as possible will be transported by cogwheel railway and in winter by aerial cableway only. Tents will be erected in Alpnachstad and Kriens to store material. Work is planned to be carried out in the period between October 2009 and spring 2011.
The greatest challenge is to ensure the smooth co-existence of regular services and the building site. Some restrictions must be expected during the building phase. PILATUS-BAHNEN and the building contractors will make every effort to ensure that the Mount Pilatus excursion remains an enjoyable experience during the construction period. |
